Recall
Effective Date: April 6, 2026
Last Updated: April 6, 2026
Overview
Recall ("the App") is a color memory game developed by an independent developer ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.
Short version: We collect very little data. Your gameplay statistics are stored only on your device. We use Apple Game Center for leaderboards and RevenueCat for in-app purchases — both are governed by their own privacy policies.
Information We Collect
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored exclusively on your device using your device's local storage. It is never transmitted to our servers:
- Game history — game mode (Normal, Hard, Survival, Zen, Daily), score, and duration of each session
- Statistics — total games played, total playtime, average score, best score, current streak, longest streak, daily challenges completed, and per-mode statistics
- Activity history — dates on which you played (used to render your activity grid)
- App preferences — whether you have been prompted for an App Store review
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, or any other personal identifier.
In-App Purchases (RevenueCat)
The App offers a one-time purchase called Recall Pro that unlocks additional game modes, leaderboards, and multiplayer features. Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store or the Google Play Store.
We use RevenueCat to manage purchase verification and entitlement status. When you make or restore a purchase, RevenueCat receives:
- A randomly generated anonymous customer identifier (not linked to your name or email)
- Your purchase receipt and entitlement status
- Basic device information required for purchase validation
RevenueCat does not receive your payment details — those are handled directly by Apple or Google.

Leaderboards (Apple Game Center)
If you are signed in to Game Center on your device, the App may submit your game scores to public leaderboards. This means:
- Your score and your Game Center display name (which you set in your device settings) will be visible to other players
- Apple Game Center handles all authentication and data storage for leaderboards
- Game Center sign-in is initiated automatically when the App launches; if you prefer not to participate, you can sign out of Game Center in your device's Settings app

Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not run advertising networks or sell ads
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs (no Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar)
- We do not collect your location
- We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or photos
- We do not track you across other apps or websites
How We Use Information
Game history & stats — stored on your device only — to display your personal progress and statistics.
Review prompt flags — stored on your device only — to avoid asking for a review more than once.
Purchase entitlements — stored with RevenueCat — to verify your Pro purchase and restore purchases.
Game scores — stored with Apple Game Center — to power public leaderboards.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the features described above.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except as described below:
- Apple Game Center receives your scores and Game Center display name when you submit a score to a leaderboard.
- RevenueCat receives anonymous purchase and entitlement data to process and restore in-app purchases.
- Apple / Google process payment information for in-app purchases. We never see your payment details.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the developer, our users, or the public.
Children's Privacy
The App is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not collect personal information from any users, including children. The App does not include any features that require users to provide personal information.
If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns about your child's use of the App, please contact us.
Data Retention and Deletion
- On-device data (game stats, history) can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data in your device settings.
- RevenueCat data is retained per RevenueCat's data retention policy. You may contact RevenueCat directly to request deletion of your data.
- Game Center data (leaderboard scores) is managed by Apple. You can remove your Game Center activity through your Apple ID settings or by contacting Apple support.
Security
We do not operate servers that store your personal data. Your gameplay data remains on your device. For data handled by third-party services (RevenueCat, Apple Game Center), those services implement industry-standard security measures as described in their respective privacy policies.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
